Unemployed son kills elderly parents in Aligarh

The bodies of an elderly couple aged in their 80s and 70s were found in a hut in Badampur village under Iglas police station in Aligarh on Saturday morning. The locals informed the local police who reached the spot and started investigating the matter.

Marks of injuries were found on the bodies and necks of the couple, police say.

Farmer Ramji Lal had 20 Bigha of agricultural land and lived with his wife Bhgwan Devi in ​​a hut near their field. The couple has three sons who also live in the same village. On Saturday morning, the couple's granddaughter saw the bodies lying in the cottage and alerted family members. The police sent both bodies for post-mortem and started an investigation.

Aligarh police on Monday arrested the couple's son Dhirendra Kumar (43), who has two children and is unemployed. Investigations revealed that the couple was not interested in giving the property to their son, which often leads to a quarrel between the deceased father and his son Dhirendra.

"When Dhirendra Kumar was trying to kill his father on Friday night, his mother woke up and heard the noise due to which he also killed his mother," Deputy Superintendent Rajeev Dwivedi said. Based on a police complaint filed by a family member of the deceased couple, a case under Section 302 of the IPC was registered against the accused son and he was sent to jail, the DSP said.
